Alberto Del Takes Over For Ricardo Rodriguez & Takes A Shot At Him in Character & more

WWE.com’s Five-Point Preview is teasing a one-on-one match with Luke Harper for Raw. The article takes note of Jericho’s win over Erick Rowan on Smackdown, which barred him from ringside for the SummerSlam match, and says that “Should Y2J similarly eliminate Luke Harper from this match, Wyatt will be forced into a fair fight against Jericho — a rare scenario indeed for the calculating ‘Man of 1,000 Truths.’ Will Jericho have the opportunity to level the playing field this week?”

Alberto Del Rio handled the pre-taped backstage interview segments that air on RAW and SmackDown only in Mexico. Del Rio took over for Ricardo Rodriguez, who was released last week, and stayed in heel mode as he mocked his former associate for being “fat” and “useless.” Whether this is a permanent spot for Del Rio or not isn’t known.

WWE Continues AJ Lee ‘Injury’ Over The Weekend

At Saturday night’s live event in Lubbock, TX, WWE did another “injury” angle with AJ Lee. As most of you saw on Friday’s WWE SmackDown broadcast, Paige attacked AJ and WWE.com posted an article saying she suffered “whiplash.”

During the show in Lubbock on Saturday night, AJ Lee was scheduled to defend the Divas title against Paige and Natalya. AJ came out for the match but sold the “whiplash” injury and was taken to the back by WWE’s agents. Near the end of the match featuring Natalya and Paige (the remaining two Divas), AJ ran back out and made Paige tap out to her “Black Widow” finisher.

News on WrestleMania 31; WWE Possibly Bringing Back Combined RAW/SmackDown tapings

Source: The Wrestling Observer

– Because of the ongoing budget cuts in which the WWE is planning to slash $30 million next year, WWE Management has been discussing the idea of bringing back the combined RAW and SmackDown “Supershow” tapings in 2015.

In addition to more office and roster cuts, it’s been said that the WWE will likely scale back on WrestleMania pyros next year. With WrestleMania 31 being held in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California being an outdoor stadium and begins at 4:00PM(PT), less pyro would be expected anyway.

The latest news on The Young Bucks to WWE

Way back in August of 2011, we posted a story regarding some issues between The Young Bucks and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. Basically, The Young Bucks were backstage at a RAW TV taping to receive WWE tryouts. Prior to the tryouts, The Young Bucks were backstage during the day and rubbed Booker T the wrong way as they reportedly turned their backs to him and didn’t “shake his hand.” Booker felt that it was a disrespectful thing to do as they were there for tryouts and failed to respect a “locker-room leader”.

Rob Van Dam later came out and bashed the tag-team as well as he felt they were disrespectful to numerous guys on the WWE roster at the time. They also didn’t shake his hand. Basically, it’s common knowledge that if you’re a “newbie” within WWE, you go up to the current talents and introduce yourself, shake their hands and thank them for having you there. That goes for any job to be honest. If you’re the “new guy in town”, you go out of your way to respect and introduce yourself to the guys that were there before you.

Anyways, The Young Bucks never got a job with WWE and went on to achieve success on the indy scene and overseas in Japan. The duo have been posting teasers as of late that they may be WWE bound. Several days ago, the two posted Coca-Cola bottles featuring their names on the label next to toy WWE Tag Team Title belts (see the original report below).

They then continued with the following tweets:

“It’s pretty ironic we’ve lost the PWG, ROH, and IWGP Tag championships in a matter of a month…..”

“I wonder where our careers will take us nxt?”

Following their loss to The Hardy Boyz at Saturday night’s Northeast Wrestling event, they tweeted the following photo. Booker T was at the same Northeast Wrestling event and the photo below was taken there:
