– IndyStar.com covered John Cena’s ESPN SportsCenter appearance from the weekend and these comments Cena made about NFL quarterback Tom Brady, who play for Cena’s New England Patriots, as he goes through the Deflate Gate scandal:

“Let your accomplishments speak for yourself. There is no better argument to any speculation than to go out there and just kick some ass. You are great; you are part of a great organization that prides itself on trying to create a dynasty atmosphere. Stay the course, keep doing well, and years from now we’ll just wonder why we spent federal tax dollars investigating deflated footballs.”

– We noted earlier that news reporter Alison Parker, who was murdered on live TV this morning while conducting an interview, covered WWE TV tapings in Virginia last year and met The New Day. The WWE Tag Team Champions remembered her on Twitter:

Shaken by the news of the tragic passing of Alison Parker. We all loved her energy and warmth. pic.twitter.com/TjKRSmT7HA

Bubba Ray Responds To Big E, Triple H's Daughters Fans Of Sara Lee, ROH Star On The New Day

– Title Match Wrestling posted this video with Ring of Honor star Cedric Alexander talking about WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, why you should watch ROH over NXT or TNA and other topics. Alexander was in the news this past April after speaking out about The New Day gimmick, saying, “…when you’ve got three black guys singing and dancing, stereotypes get fed too much and I hate it.”

– OurMidland.com spoke with WWE Tough Enough winner Sara Lee’s parents today. They noted that she came up with her “Hope” persona by herself and the name comes from the town she’s from – Hope, Michigan. Her dad Bob revealed some of her biggest fans:

“It’s surreal. It’s awesome. It’s a positive thing. Triple H said to her at SummerSlam that his little girls came back and they were all excited about meeting Sara Lee. He said you can’t teach personality, and that’s what she has.”

– We noted earlier that Big E tweeted about The Dudley Boys and called them “old dudes.” Bubba Ray responded on Twitter today:

Dear @WWEBigE , Be careful Big man…next time it will be you going through that table!! Peace out, Bubba and Devon https://t.co/3Kl8kpXjks

Jushin "Thunder" Liger Working More For WWE?

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

– It was originally reported that wrestling legend Jushin “Thunder” Liger would just be working one date with WWE – the win over Tyler Breeze at NXT “Takeover: Brooklyn” this past weekend. However, Liger is now expected to work more dates with WWE.

One promoter noted to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they tried to book Liger for a few dates but was told WWE already had him booked for those dates. This could be a sign that he’s been offered some sort of contract by WWE, similar to the one Samoa Joe is working under but likely not as extensive as he’s with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Tropical Storm Erika could cause big problems for WWE next week. The company is taping RAW in Tampa and SmackDown in Miami, with Erika currently projected to hit Florida.

Currently, the storm is expected to hit the east side of the state which presents more problems for SmackDown than RAW. While it is expected to be out of Southern Florida by Tuesday, it could still cause problems for the tapings especially if a state of emergency is declared. That could cause all public events in the affected areas to be canceled.

Backstage Update – Major Uncertainty Over The Future Of TNA On Destination America

Partial Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Also read: Major Update On The ROH/Destination America Deal – Samoa Joe’s WWE Future, TNA Talent Not Happy

According to sources, there is “a lot of uncertainty” over TNA’s future with Destination America. The most recent set of TV tapings run through the end of September, which is when Destination America has been previously reported as ending the show’s run on their network, and no new tapings have been announced. More importantly, no word has come down as to whether they will be staying on the cable network.

Most people in the company figured that the situation would be cleared up by this point, considering that it’s only a month or so away from the September breaking point. There were past rumors that the next taping would be set for October 5th and/or 6th, but in the past tapings have been announced over a month beforehand in order to properly promote and draw crowds.

Destination America is still refusing to comment on the situation and TNA officials are being left in the dark. Many feel as if that doesn’t spell good news.
