John Stewart Set to Host This Year's WWE SummerSlam

The Daily Show Host Jon Stewart is back! This time around, the comedian is all set to entertain audiences by hosting World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.’s (WWE Snapshot Report) SummerSlam which will be aired live on Aug 23 at 7pm ET.

Stewart, who has been hosting The Daily Show for 16 years till he stepped down on Aug 6, has an impressive track record. During his term, Stewart interviewed an array of VIP guests including President Barack Obama, former President Jimmy Carter, Clint Eastwood, Halle Berry, Ben Affleck, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Derek Jeter, Shaquille O’Neal, Bill Gates and many others.

Stewart’s connection with WWE began earlier this year, when he drew bad blood with WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins by taunting him in an online video. Consequently, Rollins walked into his show and provoked Stewart to appear on Monday Night Raw. As per sources, Stewart took up the challenge and made an appearance but ended up landing a kick in Rollins groin before escaping.

This year, SummerSlam will be broadcasted for four hours coupled with a one hour pre-show from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The show will feature WWE superstar the Undertaker against another WWE superstar Brock Lesnar in a grudge-encouraged rematch.
