Ring of Honor Star Adam Cole Reveals Why His Initial WWE Tryout Didn't Work Out

[unable to retrieve full-text content]

Ring of Honor star Adam Cole recently park in an interview with Marc Madison of The News Hub in which he revealed the details behind histryout with the WWEThat particular tryout I went down to Afa the Wild Samoans training school which at the time was located in I believe may be Tampa, Florida but I may be incorrect on that but somewhere in Florida. We actually got to train for a week with Haku and Afa himself and it was awesome. It was such a good experience. I got my ring conditioning up and I learned little tricks of the trade. I learned how to be more intense in the ring because the Samoans are so intense. Then going into that tryout, again the harsh reality of that now looking back as to where I was in wrestling at that time, I was in just way over my head.I was a 19 year old kid, I was 170 ibs soaking wet. I didnt have an identity. I didnt have a look. I didnt have the proper gear. I was just a young guy trying to be a wrestler. So to be honest, WWE didnt even give me a second look. I dont even know if they looked me in the eyes based on my size, based on my experience. I literally looked like a child there. For me it was more motivating as going forward and now I kind of have an idea of what I need to do. A lot of that just comes with just time. When youre an independent wrestler, committing a lot of time and effort into honing your craft as much as possible in as many different places as possible will catch the WWEs interest as far as the independent level goes. It was definitely an eye opening experience for me.

Historic Deal To Provide Healthcare For Pro Wrestlers Agreed By Mexican Government

[unable to retrieve full-text content]

President of Mexico City Wrestling El Fantasma and Mexican Health Secretary Dr. Armando Ahued Ortega have just signed a historic agreement in which Professional wrestlers and their families will now becovered by a medical social insurance program.I am big fan of wrestling, I think this is an intense but also a risky sport. The knocks and blows affect them bit by bit, so it is very so important for them being covered by free medical expenses, said Ahued.Dr. Ahued also explained that this insurance will give wrestlers and their families access to clinics and hospital where they will be able to have medical tests including x-rays, MRIs, surgery, lab studies, and medical attention.

NXT Recap: July 15th 2015

The women of NXT highlighted this episode from Full Sail University, with an excellent main event contest over the NXT Women’s Championship. Following the amazing reception they received upon debuting on RAW earlier in the week, Sasha Banks would battle her fiercest rival Charlotte over the coveted belt. These two have shared numerous classic encounters over the past year, both as teammates and as bitter enemies, but through every clash they have earned respect for each other’s accomplishments and ability. So, will the Boss continue to reign supreme, or can Charlotte strut her way back to the top?

Tag team wrestling also was prominently featured on this edition of NXT, as the Tag Team Champions Blake & Murphy were in action against Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton. With the Vaudevillains cementing themselves as the next challengers for their belts, the champs would look to send a message in this encounter. From the cream of the tag team division to a new duo on the scene, as Jason Jordan finally agreed to Chad Gable’s request to team up, and they fought Steve Cutler and Elias Sampson.

Additionally on this night, Samoa Joe would compete against a newcomer to NXT, the German Axel Tischer. Also, Eva Marie announces her intentions to compete next week, and Sami Zayn receives a hero’s welcome as he discusses his injury status.

Quick Results

  • Jason Jordan & Chad Gable defeat Steve Cutler & Elias Sampson

Jason Jordan & Chad Gable vs Steve Cutler & Elias Sampson

[embedded content]

For weeks, Jason Jordan has been searching for a tag team partner to reach his high standards and push him to the top. After dumping former long-term partner Tye Dillinger, replacements such as Marcus Louis and Sylvester Lefort proved bad matches. Thus, after numerous pleas from newcomer Chad Gable to join forces, Jordan has agreed to their alliance, as they fought Steve Cutler & Elias Sampson in their first outing.

Highlights

I enjoy Jordan’s immense self-confidence and use of his powerful amateur style

This might be a stretch, but Gable’s first minute of in-ring competition was some of the most fluid mat wrestling I have ever witnessed

That finishing double-team was extremely impressive

Crowd Reaction

The crowd were firmly in the corner of Gable and pleased to see his opportunity arrive

Low Points

Quite short due to other contests on the card, and Cutler didn’t get much of a look in

Finish

Jordan lifts Cutler up in a back drop, and throws him into a separate bridging back drop by Gable for the victory

That is how you make an immediate impression as a new team, as Jason Jordan and Chad Gable gave a showcase of their potential going forward. Their blend of amateur wrestling binds them as a unit, whilst they have a mix of speed and power through their individual assets. It will be interesting to see them improve going forward, and I can definitely see them as future Tag Team Champions. On the flip side, Elias Sampson strikes me as one to watch going forward after he’s paid his dues.

There isn’t a nicer guy in boxing than Anthony Crolla. We all want him to beat Darleys Perez and become the WBA lightweight champion of the world, so we asked The Panel for their predictions. Head, not just heart…

Paul Smith

You have to talk about Crolla’s work-rate because that could do it. He’s trained like a demon for this and hopefully it’s written in the stars for him to get the win. He really deserves it, and is certainly good enough. It could be another great night for Manchester.

Hopefully it’s written in the stars for him to get the win. He really deserves it and is certainly good enough.

Paul Smith

I haven’t seen too much of Perez, apart from the videos in the gym. I always listen to Joe Gallagher because he’ll tell me straight, and he said Crolla will win but it’ll be a tough night for him. Very tough. Of course, he thinks he’s going to win and I think he will too, but it’ll be a close fight. I can see Crolla winning on points.

Carl Froch

Crolla’s been given another chance so you’ve got to give Eddie Hearn credit but the fact that he missed that voluntary shot, because of that attack before Christmas, means he will have the mindset he needs to produce the goods and win a world title.

Because of that attack before Christmas, he will have the mindest he needs to produce the goods and win a world title.

Carl Froch

Perez can punch and has only lost to Yuriorkis Gamboa, so you can’t take him lightly, but it is the fact that he hasn’t beaten anyone that stands out. Anthony has a really good chance. We know Ant will be busy and he boxes well but he will be hungrier than ever. I’m going for Crolla on points.

Glenn McCrory

Everybody loves Anthony Crolla. He’s a hero in and out of the ring, the nicest kid in the sport and yes, he was great against John Murray last year. But this is for a world title, and that is a big step up. Perez has had 32 fights and has only lost to Gamboa on points, so this is going to be incredibly tough.

It breaks my heart to say it but this is a step too far for Anthony and I would love to get it wrong, I really would.

Glenn McCrory

It breaks my heart to say it, but this is a step too far for Anthony. I would love to get it wrong, I really would, but boxing has never been a sentimental business and I think we could be looking at Perez stopping him late, maybe around the 10th. Occasionally nice guys do win, and let’s hope Crolla can.

Jamie Moore

It’s going to be a really tough fight. From the looks of things, Perez is quite similar to Crolla. He might be that little bit sharper but Crolla looks like he could be the better body puncher. It’s such a great comeback story from Crolla and I really think he can do it.

I’m not worried about him getting carried away in front of the home crowd in Manchester because he’s a very level-headed lad and I’m backing him to cope with the pressure

Jamie Moore

I’m not worried about him getting carried away in front of the home crowd in Manchester because he’s a very level-headed lad and I’m backing him to cope with the pressure. Perez looks like a serious fighter so it’s not going to be easy, and I can see it going right down to the wire. Crolla is going to nick it on points. It might even be a split decision.

Johnny Nelson

Crolla is the younger, fresher fighter but there are a lot of factors to worry about in what happened to him over the past year. But he is capable of winning at that level, if he can avoid making any mistakes. However, if he does make mistakes, he will get exposed. It’s not impossible for him to win but everything has to be right.

If he makes mistakes and is not of that level, he’ll get exposed. It’s not impossible for Crolla to win but everything has to be right.

Johnny Nelson

Crolla has always surprised me with his boxing ability, which is underrated. He knows the pressure is going to be on. He has to be on his game. He’s got to consistently outbox Perez for at least two minutes of every round. I think
